Super star trotter Just Believe (Orlando Vici) has taken out this years running of the $300,000 (Gr1) Woodlands Stud Great Southern Star in the hands of harness racing driver Greg Sugars tonight (Feb. 3) at Tabcorp Park Melton.
Just Believe trailed all the way behind $101 to one outsider Mufasa Metro who showed blistering speed to cross the field at the start and then had enough in reserve to cart Just Believe to the home turn.
“I was a little unsure whether the retake may have been available but I thought if that decision didn’t go in my favour I was in a world of hurt then and so I just had to rely on John (Justice) to take us far enough and his horse ran a great race. That was the difference between winning and losing tonight,” Sugars told Sky Racing’s Brittany Graham after the race.
Mufasa Metro stuck on well for second and Im Ready Jet battled on well for third.
HE’S JUST A SUPER-STAR!
What a brilliant win by Just Believe for Jess Tubbs, Greg Sugars and their marvelous big group of owners, who are now Woodlands Stud Great Southern Star champions.
