Rising 13-year-old Karalta Dazzler (Stonebridge Regal) recorded his fifth harness racing win of the season after leading most of the way to take out the Tasracing Stakes (2180m) in Burnie on Friday night (Nov 17).

Sent out as the $2.10 favourite, the Stonebridge Regal gelding stepped brilliantly and had to work early to find the lead on the first bend.

From there, driver Gareth Rattray was able to get some soft sections in the early stages before increasing the speed of the race over the final 1200m.

Rattray went for home down the back straight, with Karalta Dazzler always holding his rivals in the run to the line to defeat Ozzie Major ($6), who was taking ground off the winner late, with Stylish Trend ($18) a further 8.9m away.

“It’s his favourite track. He jumped on top and got the job done again (after winning in Burnie last month),” Yole said post-race.

Of Karalta Dazzler’s 31 wins, six have been in 22 Burnie starts, where he has also recorded eight minor placings.

“The rating system allows him to do what he is doing, and that’s all we can do, is to go by it.

“After winning these couple, he will still be competitive in the 45 and better stands,” added the trainer.

“While he is sound and well and happy to race, we will keep him going,” Yole said.

Yole ended the night with six winners, including Sweet Lou filly Fiesta Stride ($5.60) in the Life Members Pace (2180m).

It was back-to-back wins for the three-year-old filly after a win in Launceston on Sunday.

“She is a progressive filly going forward.

“She has got high speed and is pretty strong, and I expect her to win a few more races,” said the trainer.

Other winners from the Yole stable included Smooth Deal ($2.10 fav), Where Ya Bin ($7.20), Captain Cosmonaut ($15) and Cool Scooter ($3.90 fav).

Other highlights on the night were Our Ruby Rose ($4.00) remaining undefeated in two Burnie starts, giving Brighton trainer Tammy Langley her 100th career training win, with her son Dylan Ford taking the drive.

Brodie Davis produced one of the drives of the night when taking the shortcuts to score aboard Bold Centurian ($20), his fourth win of the season in race five.
