Promising trotter Keayang Chucky (Love You) showed that he is ready to step into the better classes when he stormed down the outside the snatch harness racing victory in the Aldebaran Trotters Free For All at Melton last night.Ā
In a quality even field star mare Queen Elida showed exceptional speed to cross over to the lead with driver Chris Alford attempting to dictate the terms of the race.Ā
The heavily backed mare Iām Ready Jet was caught three wide early before going up and racing outside the leader. Harry Stamper was given a trail one out and two back.Ā
Despite having the harder run Iām Ready Jet went to the front on straightening and holding off the late challenge from Harry Stamper. But Keayang Chucky who was following Harry Stamper unleashed an electrifying sprint in the home straight to just prevail over a very gallant Iām Ready Jet with Harry Stamper holding on for third from the fast finishing Olivici.Ā Ā

Despite the close finish driver Jason Lee commented
āI was pretty confident even at the bell that we were going to be a really good chance so they just bowled along and he was travelling so good. He switched off a little bit to be honest and Kate Gath on Iām Ready Jet she was super sheās a great mare she did all the work all credit to her but we got there when it matteredā.
āLee also commented that Just Believeās the benchmark and thereās a big group behind him chasing him. Thereās Call Me The Breeze and thereās a group of five or six thereā.
Still on the basis of his paralysing sprint Keayang Chucky will make his presence felt in Free For all Company without the presence of Just Believe and Call Me The Breeze.Ā
Iām Ready Jet lost no friends with her outstanding effort and she is now laying title to Australiaās best trotting mare having the better of Queen Elida in their last several encounters.Ā
