Despite strong winds, which impacted on fast race times, it was an interesting day of harness racing at Warragul earlier this week.
Two pacers, Montu and Intergalactic, have been most consistent at Warragul meetings this season, and the pair won again on Monday.
Both geldings are undefeated in two starts at Warragul for the term, and head the Horse of the Year title.
Intergalactic, formerly trained in Gippsland, won three races on end before a Maryborough failure, but bounced back to the winners' list in good style on Monday.
The win was part of a double for driver Jodi Quinlan, who also won the first race with Illawong Moonshine.
Montu meanwhile stormed home out wide in the seventh in a busy finish to register his fourth win from 12 starts.
It was another great afternoon for women trainers and drivers, following on from the December meeting.
From the eight races on Monday, women trained five winners, while Quinlan's win with Intergalactic made it six of the eight events for the ladies.
Sharon Hahne, Gaita Pullicino, Rebecca Cartwright and Susan Hunter also trained winners on the day.
Driving successes for women during the month of February aids the Women's Cancer Foundation. Female drivers are wearing teal coloured driving pants, while some are also wearing Women's Cancer Foundation driving silks or a specially painted racing cart.
Each winner driven by a woman until March 7 earns $200 for the worthy charity, following on from a successful fundraising campaign last year.
Monday's racing again highlighted the quality of recent redevelopment works done on the Warragul track, with winners coming from various positions in the field throughout the day.
Racing returns to Warragul on Monday, March 24.
