Star pacer Kingman (Always B Miki) gave yet another peerless display in his all the way win in the Agnes Banks Equine Vet Pace at Menangle on Saturday evening.

A recent addition to the Luke McCarthy stable Kingman worked forward from barrier 6 to take up the running from Ripp and then Horn Player.
It was a matter of Luke McCarthy rating the gelding to run out the 2300 metre journey and having had two relatively easy first quarters Kingman had plenty left when he went for home on the final bend.
Ubetcha Tigerpie and Ardens Ace both finished well but they had to be content with the minor placings as Kingman cruised to win by just over three metres and record a credible mile rate of 1.53 for the 2300 metres.
KINGMAN AUG 23 REPLAY
Luke McCarthy indicated his satisfaction following the event.
“I’m really happy with his run tonight. I thought his first up effort was great and then second up against good free for all pacers and he ran a good second there. He’s come back to win tonight”.
“It’s been a few weeks between runs. I think that run will do him good and now I’m really looking forward to the Len Smith Mile”.
This Group1 event will be run on September 6.

McCarthy also indicated that a trip for the Victoria Cup and other feature races are likely to be on the cards for Kingman.
“He’s got a big motor this guy and he’s shown that he can go the distance. He’s a good miler as well”.
“He seems quite versatile and we’ll aim him for better races as they come around”.
Kingman was prepared early in his career by Emma Stewart and he was a more than useful performer. However under McCarthy he has developed into a very capable pacer and as indicated he looks set to acquit himself in the top feature events.
