Defending Ladyship Mile champion Stylish Memphis is right where she needs to be to go back-to-back in the harness racing feature at Menangle tonight.

Trainer-driver Jack Trainor is pleased with the New Zealand mare that has drawn barrier one in this renamed edition of the race known as the Queen Elizabeth Stakes II Mile.

Stylish Memphis.

“I’m stoked with Memphis, her work has been super,” said Trainor.

“The way I look at it barrier one is better than barrier 10 and is the shortest way home.

“I think she will surprise a few with her gatespeed and I’m confident she can hold up.”

Stylish Memphis is the favourite for tonight’s $200,000 Group 1.

She won last year’s race in a career best one minute and 49.2 seconds and subsequently earned an invitation to the Miracle Mile.

The last mare to win the Ladyship Mile back-to-back was Tailamade Lombo in 1998 and 1999.
