In a heat of the Vicbred Series for 4yo mares at Shepparton last night, Kiwi owned pacer Amore Vita (Art Major) has smashed the harness racing all comers track record over the 2190m clocking an incredible 1:52.3 mile rate.
Amore Vita was not rushed early by driver Chris Alford, who bided his time while the Emma Stuart trained stablemates Petillante and Fiamma did battle up front. At the 700m Alford pushed the go button and Amore Vita cruised up to the leaders and put the issue beyond doubt in the straight winning easily by 7metres from a game Petillante.
AMORE VITA REPLAY
Amore Vita is owned in New Zealand by Canterbury trainer Steve Dolan and trained in Australia by Emma Stewart. The Art Major mare has now won in excess of half a million dollars and has won 16 races from 33 starts.
