Kusanova, a New Zealand-bred daughter of former top pacer Changeover, now at Burwood Stud in Queensland, made an auspicious debut on Australian soil at Cranbourne last Saturday night (July 9).
The mare led from go to whoa at a 1:58.3 rate over 2080 metres including a flying 57.7 seconds last 800.
She has now won five races and almost $40,000 in stakes.Ā
Changeover sired a pair of three-year-old filly winners at the Redcliffe midweek meeting in Explanation Noted (1:59.7) and Swift Change.
Other Australian winners by Changeover included Our Friend NZ (Marburg) and Armarockstar (Narrogin), while Westar Lad broke maiden ranks at Addington in NZ.
In North America, Changeover was represented by Franco Totem NZ (1:52), La Bella Vita NZ (1:52.2) and The Charging Moa NZ (1:54.6).
Changeover has sired 65 individual winners and $955,070 in progeny earnings in Australia and NZ to date this season.
