The five-year-old La Bella Vita NZ is proving a splendid advertisement for the former Kiwi champion Changeover, now at Burwood Stud on Queensland’s Darling Downs.
La Bella Vita notched her seventh success from 13 starts on Australian soil when she out-sprinted a top field in the Mares Open in 1:53.1 at Albion Park last Saturday night (July 3). She has now won 10 races and $85,018 in stakes.
Changeover was represented by a pair of three-year-old winners at opposite ends of the country, both recording their third successes. Nicks Pick scored in 1:59.4 at Albion Park, while Justanextragrand won at Globe Derby Park.
Other recent Australian winners sired by Changeover have been Little Change (1:56.7) and Kash Us Back (1:56.9), who both won at Redcliffe, Jaccka Ted NZ (1:58.9, Globe Derby Park), Talkerup NZ (1:59.2, Pinjarra) and Chang (Marburg).
To complete a big week, Changeover produced ‘new’ winners at the last two meetings of the Forbury Trotting Club at Dunedin, New Zealand in Shard’s Fury and Owes Me Dough.
Changeover has sired the winners of more than $16.2 million worldwide.
