Ladies In Red (Mach Three) has come up with a nice inside front row draw for Saturday night’s IRT Koala King Free For All at Melton Entertainment Park.
The megastar mare was drawn into barrier two for the 1720m event, which has been placed as the opening event on the harness racing card.
Ladies In Red will start outside pole-marker Triple Eight and inside fellow front line runners Rakero Rebel, Mach Dan, Sew What, Serg Blanco and Bulletproof Boy.
The Lost Storm has barrier eight, with Tango Tara nine, Perfect Stride 10 (emergency) and Bach 11.
The first four races on Saturday night’s card will carry $2000 First 4 jackpots, with the TAB projecting those pools to reach $20,000.
Group 1 winner Sahara Breeze is another headline runner at the races on Saturday night.
The Gary and Debbie Quinlan-trained mare has barrier seven for the second event on the card, the TAB We’re On Pace.
She has not raced since a sixth placing in the 2023 Victoria Oaks Final behind Sweet Bella back in October and comes up against a field including Ultimate Vinnie (eight), Perfect Stride (nine) – if he fails to gain a start in the Koala King – and Treachery (10).
Saturday night’s nine-race card kicks off with the opening event at 5.20pm and finishes after the last at 9.50pm.
