It is the sign all harness racing trainers want – a good final hit-out before a major race.
And that is the reality for Team McCarthy who is the major player in tonight’s $500,000 Inter Dominion Pacing Championship Grand Final at Menangle.
Trainer Belinda McCarthy has power in numbers qualifying four horses for the Grand Circuit event.
Her four starters plus their 10 other rivals, including the emergencies, arrived at the on-course Retention Facility on Wednesday as part of Harness Racing New South Wales’ integrity measure on the feature.
Reinsman Luke McCarthy was impressed with Team McCarthy’s starters at their final fast-work.
“They have all settled in super and trained really well on Thursday morning,” said McCarthy.
“We’re looking forward to Saturday night.”
McCarthy will drive King Of Swing who had been the feature’s main favourite throughout the series.
Expensive Ego took over that favouritism when drawing barrier one and will be driven by David Moran, however, the market has changed again.
Spirit Of St Louis and Alta Orlando are the other Team McCarthy starters.
