Following discussions between Taylor Made Stallions, the North American owners of Lazarus, and Club Menangle the mutual decision has been made to terminate the agreement between the parties for the Southern Hemisphere breeding rights for the stallion.
After two disappointing seasons Down Under, the board reached the position that the investment was no longer commercially viable for the Club.
The decision now enables Taylor Made Stallions to look at other options for the Southern Hemisphere breeding rights for Lazarus.
The Club has thanked Taylor Made Stallions, Dr Angus McKinnon and the team at Goulburn Valley Equine, together with Dr Zamira Gibb at Newcastle University, for their professionalism during this process.
In particular, the Club has acknowledged the efforts of Yirribee Stud, which went above and beyond all expectations in their efforts to make this venture viable. No stone was left unturned, including daily testing of the stallion over the entire breeding season, unfortunately circumstances were not in their favour.
Finally, the Club has thanked the breeders who supported the venture and wishes those fortunate enough to have a Lazarus foal every success for the future.
