Well bred Lazarus NZ gelding Kick The Switch was impressive winning the HRNSW NSW Bred 2YO Final tonight (Jul. 1) at Tabcorp Pk Menangle for harness racing trainer Bernie Hewitt.
Driven by Cameron Hart, Kick The Switch showed big speed from barrier nine to hit the front before the winning post the first time around.
Hart had Kick The Switch rolling along in front for the rest of the race and in the straight had too much petrol in the tank, coasting down to the finish to comfortably win his second race in three race-day starts.
Kick The Switch ran the mobile mile in 1:55.1 with a closing 800m in 57.4 seconds. Modern Sheen and Beachride filled the minor placings.
KICK THE SWITCH REPLAY
Kick The Switch is out of the G2 placedĀ Flight PathĀ mare, Alphitonia.
While Alphitonia showed enough ability to win 12 and pace 1:54, itās fair to say that there isnāt much pedigree behind her in the maternal lines.
She has produced Laurie Dee (A Rocknroll Dance) with her first foal who is the winner of four, while Kick The Switch is the second foal and only other of racing age.
Just as he has done in North America, his progeny are well and truly establishing themselves ‘Down-Under’ as horses with plenty of promise.
