Leap To Fame short priced to win Cranbourne Cup

Queensland sensation Leap To Fame (Bettor’s Delight) has opened a short-priced favourite to win Saturday night’s Decron Cranbourne Gold Cup.

Last weekend’s A G Hunter Cup champion has remained in Victoria for another run before his Miracle Mile campaign in Sydney and will tackle the $100,000 Group 2 feature from barrier 10.

The TAB opened Grant Dixon’s star pacer as a $1.20 chance to secure career win 33.

Horses he beat last weekend – Cya Art (five), Max Delight (six) and Kanena Provlima (seven) – are there to reoppose, while Kyle Marshall’s Kiwi import Bach is set for his first Australian start from gate four.

Kanena Provlima’s stablemate Petes Said So draws for a shot at the early lead in barrier three, while local trainer Scott Ewen is chasing Cup success with his veteran campaigner Bulletproof Boy from inside the second row.

Im Ready Jet was scratched from Saturday night’s Great Southern Star, but will run favourite in the Bruce Skeggs Memorial Cranbourne Trotters Cup.

The powerful partnership of Anton Golino and Nathan Jack will team up with the Group 1-winning mare, who was installed a $1.65 favourite by the TAB this morning.

She has a wide front row barrier of seven, with John Justice-trained Mufasa Metro (eight), Brent Lilley’s Kyvalley Hotspur (six) and Ruth Shinn’s Aldebaran Dino (nine) among the other key fancies in the market.

Darren Carroll, Tim O’Connor and Shannon O’Sullivan will headline the Saturday night TrotsVision coverage, with Luke Humphreys to call all the action from the track.
