Superstar pacer Leap To Fame (Bettor’s Delight) is bound for the world stage following his stunning harness racing win in the Group 1 $400,000 The Blacks A Fake Queensland Championship at Albion Park.

Grant Dixon managed to ease Leap To Fame away off the pegs from his pole barrier draw and was then caught three wide for the first 800 metres before settling parked outside the leader Hi Manameisjeff.
Leap To Fame ($1.25 fav) surged to the lead with 400 metres to travel and was momentarily challenged by his older half-brother Swayzee before he powered away in the home straight to score by seven metres in a track record mile rate of 1:52.8 for the 2680 metre staying trip.
“He’s just a superstar and I’m lucky to be associated with him,” Dixon said.
Dixon admitted he was jockeying for open air in the first 200 metres of the race.
“It was probably a bit messy for a while there but we were able to get out and then there was a bit of shuffling and we had to wait for them to find their positions and sort themselves out,” he said.
“To his credit he had to do all the work and yeah he was strong.”
LEAP TO FAME REPLAY
Dixon said Leap To Fame possesses an insatiable will to win.
“He is amazing as he knows what he has to do, he just relaxed there and let them sort themselves out,” he said.
“He sees the other one under pressure and he goes up to bury them and then he just wants to hold them all at bay.”
Dixon said he and owners Kevin and Kay Seymour are seriously considering showcasing their champion in international feature races.
“It’s definitely on the radar, we are keen to go and I’m sure he is the right horse to go over with,” he said.
The win was Leap To Fame’s 11th Group 1 success and takes his stake earnings to more than $3.1m comprising 41 wins from 52 career starts.
