Bettors Delight horse Leap To Fame has stamped himself as Australian harness racing’s top three-year-old colt this season following his Group 1 Queensland Derby win at Albion Park on Saturday night (Jul. 23).
The success in the $106,070 feature pushed his earnings to $289,043 with $218,862 of those stakes obtained this year.

This makes him the highest-earning colt so far with the top earner being Bettors Delight filly Just Hope with stakes of $241,787.
To get the title, Leap To Fame was forced to do it tough three-wide and then outside the leader and his class prevailed rating a slick 1:54.9 in the 2680m test.
LEAP TO FAME REPLAY
Trainer-driver Grant Dixon was fond of the effort.
“He tried great and did all the work . . . to his credit he coped all that pressure and still got the job done,” said Dixon.
“It’s always a bit harder when they are keeping an eye on you and trying to beat you.
“In the weeks leading up to this you just hope everything goes alright and thankfully it has.”
Leap To Fame is owned by Kevin and Kay Seymour of Solid Earth Pty Ltd.

He is now a two-time Group 1 winner, with success in the New South Wales Derby, and boasts a record of 12 wins and four placings in 17 starts.
