He had 10 drives between wins and came close to bringing up the milestone twice on trotter Nickys Son, who finished second last Tuesday and today at Gloucester Park and Pinjarra respectively.
The 68-year-old joins Gavin Lang and Chris Alford as the only drivers to reach the milestone.
Lewis said he was pleased the milestone was out of the way.
āNow we can move on past it,ā Lewis told The Trots WA.
āI suppose itās an achievement.
āWhen you start off in this game you donāt expect to get to 6000.
āWhen I started, 1000 was a pretty good effort.ā
