Lincoln Royal, who returns to the mainland this season where he will stand at Yanko Stud, Yanco, of Malcolm Diebert, is without question one of the most proved sires available to breeders in the NSW Riverina. He has sired the winners of more than $7 million to date including $850,000 this harness racing season.
Lincoln Royal, who was first at the stud in New Zealand (Sir Lincoln was his name in NZ), where he sired 100 winners and progeny earnings of $2.4 million, has continued to make an impact on the breeding scene in Australia.
Among his NZ bred winners have been the cup and free-for-all pacers Cranbourne, Bundoran (1:49.8), Pull The Other Leg and Rupert Of Lincoln and other smart performers in Lochiel, Lincolnās Girl, Slip The Hundy and Faze Of Glory.
Lincoln Royalās Australian bred stock include the top flight WA racemare Vivere Damore, Iamajoyride (NSW Breeders Challenge Regional 3YO), Tuppence (SA Southern Cross 3YO), Big Boy Mal (Tas. 3YO Championship), Booker Bay and Our Royal Lady (SA Sapling).Ā
Actually, Lincoln Royalās percentage of winners to starters rates him highly.
Lincoln Royal was a top racehorse himself, winning more than $650,000, and he was the NZ 3YO Colt of the Year and Aged Pacer of the Year. He won six Group races including the Auckland Cup, NZ Sires Stakes 3YO Final, Harness Jewels and the NZ Spring Cup.
Lincoln Royal is a son of the great Mach Three (1:49), a champion colt pacer who founded the leading siring dynasty in the world today.
His dam, Clare De Lune (by Beach Towel), produced nine foals for seven starters with five in 2:00, while the grand-dam the American-bred Armbro Moonlight (by Cam Fella) left 10 foals for eight starters and seven winners.
Lincoln Royal belongs to the same maternal family as Fake Left, the premier Australian sire on seven occasions and the leading juvenile sire four times.
Lincoln Royal will stand alongside the former NZ 2YO Colt of the Year and now successful colonial sire Highview Tommy at the long established Riverina nursery of the Diebert family.
The service fee for both stallions is $3,000 including agistment and veterinary costs and discounts for multiple mares.
Both stallions are eligible for the NSW Breeders Challenge, Colonial Stallion Bonus, Bathurst Gold Crown, True Blue Series and Breed NSW Incentives.
