Lightly raced harness racing colt Lochinvar Magic (Bettors Delight) showed plenty of potential when he came with a well timed burst to win the time honoured South Australian Sires Produce Stakes at Globe Derby on Monday afternoon.

The race was rescheduled to yesterday after last Saturday night’s abandonment of the last six races.
Restrained at the start by driver Danielle Hill Lochinvar Magic who was backed into favourite settled at the rear of the field. Second favourite Imposter Boy was given a hard run in the lead with Splash of Paynt serving it up to him outside the leader.
LOCHINVAR MAGIC. NOV 24 REPLAY
With a lap left to travel Art Regal was out three wide making steady ground and Lochinvar Magic was able to take a trail following. Splash Of Paynt went to the front along the back straight but Art Regal sustained his run to take the lead on straightening. Lochinvar Magic seemed to labour but towards the finish he really picked up the bit and he stormed home to narrowly edge out Art Regal with Splash Of Paynt a gallant third.
Early in his career Lochinvar Magic was sold at the NSW Yearling sales and prepared by Kerry Ann Morris. In March of this year he was sold to Kevin Gordon who then gave the colt to Ryan Hryhorec to train.

Hryhorec commented on Lochinvar Magic’s performance.
It suited him as they ran hard in front. He’s still fairly new to it with just 15 race starts. He’s got a good attitude and wants to win.
He’s probably hanging out for a good break. There’s a $25,000 race that we may consider in a few weeks time at Globe Derby.
He’s the best three year old pacer I have in my stable and he’ll come back better next time in.
Lochinvar Magic is out of the Art Major mare Angel of Arts who won six races with 15 placings from just 32 appearances and just on $100,000 in stake money. Her best performance was her final race start when she was narrowly beaten in the Empire VicBred mares final at Melton. She has also produced a two year old filly Angelic by Captaintreacherous.
It was a big day for Hryhorec as he trained five winners for the day.
His first success was with four year old Star Of Patrick (Father Patrick) driven by Danielle Hill to win a Trotters event.
Hryhorec then drove promising two year old Idealogy (Aldebaran Eagle) to take out the young trotters event at his debut. Hryhorec then had the reins again to guide filly Torque Intheusa (American Ideal) to lead all the way in her Pacers event.
Former Victorian mare Ebony’s Avenger (Kvintet Avenger) was too strong for the locals in the Open Trotters event when driven by Hill before Lochinvar Magic took out the Sires Produce.
