London To A Brick ready for Queensland campaign

Following his dominance of the recent three-year-old trotting features in New South Wales over the past month, the James Rattray-trained and reined harness racing gelding London To A Brick (Bettors Delight) has earned himself a trip to Queensland for Saturday night’s Group 1 The Great Square at Albion Park.

The son of Bettors Delight, who was bred to be a pacer, has been a revelation in the state’s trotting ranks, making a clean sweep of the Trotters Foundation and NSW Trot Series in consecutive weeks at Tabcorp Park Menangle.

“It was always in our minds that if he got through both series and we were happy enough with the way he was trotting that we would give him a crack at the Queensland race, and he has passed with flying colours,” said Rattray.

“This horse has a brilliant temperament and other than one small blunder in the New South Wales Derby, he has been faultless and just keeps stepping up to the mark.

“We are hoping that he can do the same on Saturday night.

“We are happy that he has come up with a good draw (gate three), so he should be able to float out early and get into his rhythm.

“From there, if the speed is genuine enough, it will suit our bloke and we can take things from there.”

With six months remaining, Rattray is having a good season having trained 25 winners to date, which is equal to his tally from 2022.

“Things have been going really well at the moment,” said the Southern Highlands horseman.

“We only have a small stable but have won some really nice races along the way and I am looking forward to see how the next six months pans out.”
