Look at the power of Larry!

Leap to Fame (Bettors Delight) made an ominous and thrilling statement about what may be ahead, blowing away his older half-brother Swayzee (Rock N Roll Heaven) and a quality field in a sensational Teski Mr Feelgood Open event – and obliterating his own Albion Park track record on the way through.

Grant Dixon and Leap To Fame now have the Sunshine Sprint and Blacks A Fake in their sights

Could he still be on the up?  The harness racing star known as “Larry” showed every sign that he was in second gear in the Group three feature tonight (July 13).

With Swayzee drawn barrier one, it was always going to be a tough ask for Leap To Fame (barrier 11), but in a freakish death-seat display he made it look easy, coasting away to score by 8.5 metres.

Trainer-driver Grant Dixon, his wife Trista and their owners, lifetime Queensland harness racing devotees Kevin and Kay Seymour, are loving every minute of the ride with Leap To Fame.

Grant Dixon said the couple were thrilled with the five-year-old this preparation, who appears as “in the zone” as at any time in his stellar career.

“We have been really happy with his condition and how well he has been feeling,” Dixon said.

“As he has each run, he gets a little bit sharper and wants to get on with it more.  But we couldn’t be happier with him.  He really wanted to go tonight, and I was really happy the whole way.”

Driver Cameron Hart, who drove Swayzee, said he was super impressed with Leap To Fame tonight.

“He is just unbelievable – I was nearly in awe of him halfway down the back straight when I was revving my fellow up and Grant was just swelling his. He is just an unbelievable horse I was super proud of my horse’s run, but he (Leap To Fame) is just next level.”

The Sunshine Sprint and the Blacks A Fake are still to come in the Queensland Constellations Carnival – and it’s impossible to see who could possibly put up their hand to beat Leap To Fame.

Leap To Fame’s 1.50.9 was a new track record for the 2138metre journey, eclipsing the previous mark, also held by Leap To Fame, of 1.51.7
