Tough harness racing mare Look Like Diamonds (He’s Watching) gave a polished display when she led all the way to take out the Hygain Victory pace at Melton on Saturday evening.

Friendless in the betting, Look Like Diamonds wasn’t considered to be a serious prospect with the presence of rising star Petracca.
David Miles showing plenty of initiative was able to take the lead and from then onward wasn’t seriously tackled.
After the field settled down Petracca was sent around the field by Mark Pitt. His main danger Fate Awaits was taken back to the rear by driver Grant Dixon. But it was obvious that Petracca was in trouble on the final bend, while Fate Awaits had too much ground to make up. Roadmaster who had been buried back on the rails finished fast for second with Fate Awaits out wide came in for third.
LOOK LIKE DIAMONDS NOV 1 REPLAY
Miles recalled that Look Like Diamonds was ready for the paddock.
She was definitely in season two weeks ago. As we know it’s a 21 day thing. Fourteen days later we were pretty confident she wouldn’t be in season.
We thought most of those drawn inside us would give us the lead. We had to stay in front of Petracca and Fate Awaits and that’s what she’s done.
There’s more coming out of her dam Diamond Castle that we will be having a lot of fun with.
No doubt Looks Like Diamonds will be prominent in the $100,000 Vic Breeders 4YO for mares that will be run on September 29.
Fate Awaits was doing his best work at the finish and will be better suited in his own age company.
