Champion sire Love You landed another feature double at the all-trotting meeting at Melton on Friday night (October 6).
Queen Elida, Australia’s richest trotting mare, sat parked throughout before reeling off a 55.5 seconds last 800 metres in downing a top field in the George Gath and extending her winning sequence to six.
She has won 10 of her 14 starts this season and 28 of her 46 lifetime starts. Her stake earnings stand at $583,815.
Thirty minutes later the Love You gelding Keayang Chucky outsprinted his rivals to win the $30,000 Tornado Valley Trot Final in a career-best 1:57.7 for 2240 metres.
Visionary (Orlando Vici) completed a quinella for Haras Des Trotteurs’ stallions.
Keayang Chucky has won five of his eight starts this year and seven races lifetime for $83,100 in stakes.
One night later at Menangle, Queen Elida’s younger sibling Toro Stride led all the way and posted a new lifetime mark of 1:56.6 for the flying mile. The gelding has won four out of six this season.
In New Zealand, Jasinova (Love You) recorded her13th win at Auckland, while the Orlando Vici three-year-old Luvavici notched his maiden success at only his third start at Timaru.
Love You and Orlando Vici are ranked second and fourth respectively on the Australian all aged list, while Love You is second on the NZ table.
