Champion French stallion Love You, whose semen is available in Australasia from Haras Des Trotteurs’ stud in Victoria, has jumped to outright second position on both the Australian and New Zealand harness racing sires’ lists this season.
The biggest contributor to Love You’s tally this year is bonny mare Queen Elida NZ ($186,490), the recent winner of the Carlotta’s Pride Free-for-all in 1:55.3 at Melton and a dual Group 1 winner in 2023. She has now earned $510,285 in lifetime stakes.
Jasinova, a NZ bred daughter of Love You, became the latest member of the ‘$100,000 Club’ when she scored at Auckland on June 15.
Closer to home, Love You sired a winning double at Melton with Speedy Lover and Kyvalley Picasso NZ, along with the Victorian provincial winners Van Doren, Kyvalley Surfrider NZ and King’s Guard and the NZ victors Dream Of You, Galleon’s Ambassador and Kink.
Adelle NZ, the richest Australasian-bred daughter of Orlando Vici, picked up her third Group success when she overcame a 20 metre handicap and an early miscue to down a top field in the Group 3 $31,768 Redcliffe Trotters Cup. She has now banked $182,819.
Meanwhile, Quaker Jet, another member of the starstudded Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster, was represented by recent winners in I’m Hector (Globe Derby Park) and Velocity Jet (Invercargill, NZ).
Three of Haras Des Trotteurs’ stallions in Love You (2nd), Orlando Vici (3rd) and Quaker Jet (9th) are riding high on this season’s money-winning list.
Used To Me, who has left 25 individual winners from 43 Australian bred starters, weighed in with the recent Albion Park winner the three-year-old filly Ysmir.
