Champion trotting sire Love You left important winners in three different countries over the holiday racing.
Galius, a five-year-old son of Love You, led throughout in the Group 2 Prix Tenor de Baune, a qualification race for next monthās Prix dāAmerique with a purse of 100,000 euros to the winner, held at Vincennes, Paris on Boxing Day. He rated 1:56.3 for 2700 metres in notching his 16th lifetime success.
In New Zealand, Highgrove clinched his claim as the countryās leading two-year-old trotter with a 12 lengths romp at Ashburton, rating 1:57.4 over 1700 metres with the last half in 56.8 seconds.
Highgrove has now won six of his nine starts for $$84,436 in stakes.
Love You was also represented by the two-year-old Masterly, a winner on debut at Westport, NZ, and the three-year-old Lovelorn, who posted win No. 5 at the Victor Harbor Cup meeting.
Quik Barbie, a two-year-old filly by Love Youās richest son Quaker Jet, hoisted a fresh NZ record of a 2:05.8 mile rate for the 2200 metres stand at Cambridge Raceway. She won by 11 lengths in posting her second win in eight starts.
Im Ready Jet, a four-year-old daughter of Quaker Jet, and one of his first crop, scored a brave, fighting win in a heat of the Vicbred Super Series and will be a leading contender for Friday nightās Group 1 $100,000 Final. The mare has won 14 of her 31 starts and $243,100.
Bird Parker, a double millionaire and the world record holder for two miles, sired the winner of the Group 1 Grand Prix de Vincennes, a monte race for carrying a purse of 200,000 euros to the winner in the three-year-old Ideale du Chene. The filly led from to start to finish and lifted her stake tally to 264,050 euros.
