Venerate, a two-year-old colt by the great Love You, a member of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ frozen semen roster, tied the season’s mark of 1:51.8 when he led from end to end in the $250,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Final at The Red Mile on Sunday (September 20).
The time was only 0.2 outside the world record.
A $90,000 yearling, Venerate, one of a crop of only six USA bred foals by Love You, has now banked $188,766 from three wins and two placings in six starts.
Love You was also represented by the three-year-old filly Wanna Play With Me (ex Majestic Son mare), who produced a barnstorming finish from worse than midfield to post her second win from five outings at Addington.
Beau Garcon and Just Believe, both members of Orlando’s Vici’s outstanding first crop and both bred by Haras Des Trotteurs principal Pat Driscoll, won at Horsham and Melton respectively last week.
Beau Garcon came off a 20 metre handicap to notch his sixth success this season, while Just Believe earned a new speed badge of 1:58.1 in winning for the sixth time from 16 starts.
Orlando Vici’s first crop has produced an amazing 10 winners from 11 foals and they have won 43 races and $349,023 in prizemoney.
