A pair of Love You three-year-olds, Tough Love and Highgrove, are dominating their division on either side of the Tasman.
Tough Love has won all three qualifying heats of the NSW Foundation Series at Menangle by a combined margin of 45 metres, clocking 1:57.3, 1:57.7 and 2:01.2 (2300 metres). She will be the one to beat in the Group 2 $30,000 Final at Menangle in early July.
While Highgrove has won three of his six starts this season including the Listed $75,000 NZB Harness Million at Auckland. With a bankroll of $70,348, Highgrove is clearly the leader in the three-year-old trotting section in NZ this season.
Highgrove boasts a lifetime stake tally of $154,784, the result of nine wins and two placings in 15 starts.
Masterly, a three-year-old colt by Love You, won at his first appearance this season on the grass at Geraldine after winning his only two starts as a two-year-old last season.
The talented Locksley Lover kept his unbeaten record this term in tact, overcoming a 20 metre handicap to score at Shepparton.
Other four-year-old winners sired by Love You have been Strategic Stride (Bendigo) and Salvo (Addington, NZ).
Gunner, a five-year-old gelding and one of the first crop of Love Youās leading son Quaker Jet, outsprinted his rivals to notch his fourth success in a career-best 1:58.5 at Menangle recently.
Love You and Quaker Jet are members of the star-studded stallion lineup at Haras Des Trotteurs, Ballarat (VIC.).
