Love You, Used To Me get gongs in Victoria

Champion European sire Love You and emerging stallion Used To Me were named the 2YO Trotting Sire of the Year and 3YO Trotting Sire of the Year respectively at the annual Harness Breeders Victoria awards.

The Haras Des Trotteurs’ stallions carried on the good work at the racetrack.

Love You, in particular, enjoyed another terrific week with notable winners in Victoria and WA.

Undoubtedly his headline act was former crack juvenile Ultimate Stride NZ, who recovered from an early miscue to outsprint a top field at Melton on Saturday night. The chestnut entire has now won 12 of his 22 starts and over $200,000 in stakes.

Other winners by Love You have been Kyvalley Surfrider NZ (Kilmore), Locksley Lover (1:58.1, Maryborough) and Luvaflair (Pinjarra), while Tough Love and Iron Love filled the minor placings in the NSW Trotters Derby.

Used To Me was represented by the promising three-year-old filly Used To Be A Maid, who completed back-to-back successes at Maryborough.

Other stud-sired winners were Imamaorijet (by Quaker Jet), who posted her fourth win at Maryborough, and Orlando’s Gift (by Orlando Vici), a winner at Globe Derby Park.
