Former outstanding juvenile filly Lux Aeterna (Captaintreacherous) showed a return to her very best harness racing form when she burst through to win the Group 3 Prydes Easifeed Forever Gold Mares at Albion Park on Saturday evening.

Confidently driven by Nathan Dawson Lux Aeterna was drawn on the inside of the second row but was able to follow through the leader and favourite Sweet Mia.
The inform mare of the present Tremendous Sensation came off the second line to race around the field but as it turned out she was able to land in the one out and one back position.
Sweet Mia was travelling well on the final bend and Tremendous Sensation pulled out three wide to make a race of it but the run came for Lux Aeterna and shecharged to the lead to score convincingly over Sweet Mia who fought on well for second with Tremendous Sensation holding on for third.
LUX AETERNA DEC 6 REPLAY
Driver Nathan Dawson stated:
The way the numbers were she was going to get behind the leader. She was always going to be hard to beat. That’s only my second drive on her for two wins.
Lux Aeterna is raced by her breeder Alf Spina who recalled how a heart problem as a three year old caused her to lose form. Indeed many were questioning whether she would be able to return to the top.
As a two year Lux Aeterna swept all before her winning the Pink Bonnet, the Bathurst Gold Tiara, the Nutrien two year old fillies final and the Group 1 New South Wales Breeders Crown.

It was at Albion Park during the Rising Sun in July 2024 that Lux Aeterna developed a heart condition that required time off. Trainer Rickie Alchin did a marvellous job with the filly but yet again at Menangle earlier this year that she suffered another atrial fibrillation.
So the fact that she has now come back and won three races on end is testament to Rickie Alchin’s training ability.
The four year old mare now has now won 18 races from 36 starts for over $641,000 in stake money. Obviously when she is retired she will make a valuable broodmare.
Lux Aeterna will now return to Sydney but at this stage there are no targets for her.
