New South Wales mare Majestic Trio (Majestic Son) scored the first Group 1 success of her harness racing career when she outstayed her rivals in the Queensland Trotters Cup at Albion Park.
Trained and driven by Brad Hewitt, Majestic Trio settled three horses back along the pegs during the race before Hewitt was able to ease into clear running around the home turn.
Once produced in the home straight the daughter of Majestic Son finished powerfully to score by four and a half metres from Doff Your Cap in a mile rate of 1:57.5 for the 2138 metre journey.
Majestic Trio ($6), who has now 12 of her 32 race starts is part owned by Canberra Raiders Co Captain Jarrod Croker.
Adelle, the $2.30 favorite, worked around the field to wrest the lead mid race however she weakened in the home straight to finish eighth.
