Major Delight (Bettor’s Delight) has been too strong for a good field of harness racing fillies when taking out the Group Two $100,000 Gold Bracelet Final at Bathurst tonight (Mar. 25).
In the hands of driver Mark Pitt, the Emma Stewart trained filly had to sit parked throughout in the 1730m event, but was far too tough in the home stretch, taking the lead on the turn and easily holding off the Bernie Hewitt trained and driven Jewel Melody.
Tempting Tiger a stablemate of the winner flashed home late for third.
Major Delight’s winning time represented a mile rate of 1:55.6 seconds. She has now had nine wins and a second from 10 starts and has career earnings of over $400,000.
