Three well-bred youngsters from the second crop of the Art Major horse Major Secret, a winner of six Group races and a Derby winner, comprise the draft of Steve Norman’s Allenby Lodge Stud, Bethel at the Silver Salver SA Yearling Sale on Sunday, March 27 at Globe Derby Park.

The first of the Allenby Lodge consignment, Lot 7, a bay colt, is out of the SA BOTRA Pace and Southern Cross heat winner Jimbaran Bay, who has a 100 percent record at the stud with two foals for two winners.

Major Secret winning the Horsham Cup.

Jimbaran Bay ranks as a half-sister to the Southern Cross 2YO Final and Mermaid Stakes winner Direct Candy and the dual Southern Cross Final placegetter Equity.

The colt is closely related to the SA BOTRA Pace winner Carbon Copy, the SA Sapling Stakes winner Craftsman, Entrust (SA Ladyship) and the Southern Cross 3YO and SA Lordship Stakes winner Blue Orient.

Lot 8, a bay colt, is the first foal of the good Albion Park winner Kash NZ (1:55.8), a sister to the Gloucester Park winner The Black Lord and a half-sister to the NZ Taranaki Cup winner Kaye At Quinns, dam of the NZ country cups winner Homebush Lad.

The colt’s grand-dam is a sister to the WA Christmas Gift winner Lord Miles and a half-sister to The Banker (33 wins), while his third dam figures as a half-sister to the NZ Kindergarten Stakes winner and Derby runner-up Arden Bay.

The final offering is Lot 10, a bay filly from the very successful ‘Bonus’ family in Victoria, being out of the Globe Derby Park winner Bonus Time, a Life Sign sister to Lifes A Bonus (7 wins) and the Gloucester Park three-year-old winner Naga King.

Her third dam, Spring Bonus, won eight races and left eight winners including the NSW Breeders Plate and SA Golden Nursery winner Next Bonus and was the second dam of horses the calibre of By My Side (Vicbred Super Series 4YO Final), Whipair (Vic. Youthful) and the SA Golden Nursery and Sapling Stakes winner Sportscenter.

The sale of yearlings will be followed by an all aged section.

Printed copies of the catalogue are now available at Globe Derby Park and country trotting tracks.
