Major milestone for ‘D.J’

Harness racing driver Darren ‘D.J’ Binskin has achieved many milestones in his career.

He has driven overseas, won Group races and on Tuesday reached another feat when driving 1000 winners.

Digital records have been kept since the early 1980s and marked Dinskin’s win with his evergreen trotter Scenic Sky at Menangle as his 1000^th winner.

Binskin began driving in the 1980/81 season and has notched up 6495 drives and 1682 placings in that time.

The 61-year-old will aim to add to his record at Menangle tonight.

The Menangle Park Training Centre-based horseman has two if his own pacers engaged with Line Up in race one and Alpine Stride in the Joe and Michael Ilsley FFA.

He also has four drives for trainers Tony Bertwistle and Leon Jurd.
