McCarthy’s Menangle comeback

After spending more than a month off the scene champion harness racing reinsman Luke McCarthy is back on track today.

The premiership-winning driver has two engagements locked in at Menangle starting with Lets Party Baby in race three followed by Bettor Romance in race six.

Despite having his last drives on July 24 and racing interstate in Queensland since June 19, McCarthy is still the leading metropolitan driver in New South Wales.

He has 38 wins to his credit at Menangle’s Saturday night meetings this season and has steered 78 winners in NSW this season, putting him amongst the top 10 drivers in the state.

These results, plus his interstate victories, has given McCarthy 98 winners in total for the season and could possibly reach the century today.

McCarthy has driven in excess of 100 winners for the past 11 seasons.
