Throughout May, Club Menangle is proud to have participated in harness racing’s Pacing For Pink, with $14,080 being donated to the campaign, which supports the McGrath Foundation by raising funds and awareness for their McGrath Breast Care Nurses.
For each meeting run at the Club throughout the month, we committed to donating for success on the track, $200.00 for each win by a driver in the Pink Pants, each female training win and every win by a horse carrying saddlecloth Number 8.
Overall there were 38 ‘pink’ wins throughout May at Club Menangle, with seven of these wins recording a $400.00 donation.
Club Menangle CEO Bruce Christison said: “This is a cause that means so much to all of us, and I am proud that this Club was able to work with our incredible industry participants to raise both funds and awareness.”
The campaign at Club Menangle culminated in the inaugural Pacing For Pink High Tea held on Tuesday, 24 May, which saw an afternoon Trackside of Harness Racing, bubbles, sweet and savoury treats, raffles and lucky door prizes.
A percentage from each ticket sold to the Pacing For Pink High Tea and all proceeds from the raffle were donated to the campaign.
Jaimee Rogers from The Big Sports Breakfast hosted the afternoon with guest speakers, including New South Wales premier Harness Racing caller Fred Hastings, a representative from the McGrath Foundation and KerryAnn and Robert Morris from Lucky Lodge.
Our Pacing For Pink High Tea partners included Absolutely Fabulous Event Styling, Australian Vintage Ltd, The Bathhouse, Bubba Gump Pest Control, DJNav Sydney + Selfie Station, Eaton Cakes & Catering, Hamper Culture, IconiX Salons, Like Angels, Macarthur Entertainment, Rydges Campbelltown, Symphony’s on Argyle and Tabcorp.
While our race day sponsors included Allied Express, Coutts Legal, Complete Home Loans, My Property Consultants, Macarthur FC and Wards Accounting Group.
Marg Watson, Pacing For Pink Coordinator, said, “We were over the moon with Club Menangle being involved as it represented the whole concept of other states participating. They showed leadership to everyone else on what could be done to support the campaign.
A big thank you has to be extended to all the amazing sponsors around Australia.”
Club Menangle would like to thank all participants who supported Pacing For Pink and those who attended and sponsored our inaugural High Tea.
We look forward to participating in the 2023 Pacing For Pink campaign.
Further details will be announced closer to the commencement.
