Edging closer to 700 winners as a harness racing driver Lisa Miles added another feather to her cap at Tabcorp Park Melton on Friday night.
Miles won the $30,000 Group 2 Breeders Crown Championship for the four-year-old trotting boys with Powderkeg, who she also trains.
This gave Miles 692 winners in the sulky with nine of those on Powederkeg.
It also gave Miles her 10th Group winner.
The pair was forced to work hard for their success, sitting outside the leader in the 2240m feature.
However, that was not enough to stop Powderkeg who went on to win with more than three metres to spare over his rivals when the last two quarters were clocked in 28.9 and 28.1 seconds.
It was a slight upset as the son of Muscle Hill started at odds of $6.50 and the public elect Cover Of Darkness was second in a mile rate of 1:59.6.
Miles has raced Powderkeg for the majority of his race starts apart from his debut.
Having raced since a two-year-old, Powderkeg extended his record to nine wins and 14 placings in 42 starts.
He was bred and is raced by Wyndown Stud.
