Miracle Mile draw favours the ‘King’

Champion reinsman Luke McCarthy was not too concerned where King Of Swing drew in harness racing’s $1m Miracle Mile at Menangle on Saturday.

He was more worried at where star Victorian four-year-old Bondi Lockdown would be starting.

So much to McCarthy’s delight, when the draw was finalised on Monday night, he was satisfied his drive drew barrier one and Bondi Lockdown drew barrier nine.

“It didn’t matter so much where he (King Of Swing) drew it was more where Bondi Lockdown drew and if he drew inside him,” said McCarthy.

“I’m wrapt with the draw.

“He just feels really sharp at the moment.”

King Of Swing ran a personal best one minute and 47.9 seconds to win the Allied Express Sprint at Menangle last Saturday.

Bondi Lockdown was a brave second in the Chariots Of Fire a fortnight ago in a slick one minute and 47.6 seconds.
