Classy Quaker Jet mare Electrojet put an exclamation mark on her career when she took out harness racing’s Group 3 $24,000 Lyn McPherson Memorial Breed For Speed Silver Series Final at Melton.

After enjoying a sweet passage, the mare let down with a brilliant finishing flourish to prevail in the last few bounds.

The mile of 1:58.7 for 1720 metres was a new lifetime record and the $13,680 winner’s cheque lifted her stake earnings over the $50,000 plateau.

Quaker Jet’s champion sire Love You was credited with two ‘new’ winners recently in Te Amo (Bendigo) and the three-year-old Wy Fi (Auckland, NZ), while Love Gun notched his second success at the Melton midweek meeting.

The Used To Me gelding Dont Care, the 2020 2YO Trotter of the Year, made a triumphant return to the winner’s circle with a five lengths romp at Terang. It was his seventh win from 17 starts and lifted his stake tally to within small change of $100,000.

Other stud-sired winners have been Orlando Storm (by Orlando Vici) and Megeve (by The Best Madrik), who scored at Goulburn and Cranbourne respectively.

Quaker Jet, Love You, Used To Me, Orlando Vici and The Best Madrik are members of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Ballarat.
