Speedy trotter Mufasa Metro (Father Patrick) led his harness racing rivals a merry dance with a tearaway all the way win in the $50,000 Group 2 Haras Des Trotteurs Australian Trotting Grand Prix at Melton.
Showing his customary early speed, Mufasa Metro was taken straight to the front by Ewa Justice and he was left alone in the lead.
Warm favourite Keayang Chucky was momentarily caught three wide early before racing outside the leader. Star mare Queen Elida was given the run of the race one out and one back.Ā
Harry Stamper who has shown glimpses of early ability was perfectly poised behind the leader. However Ewa Justice was given an easy run in the lead and by rating her last two quarters in 28.7 and 27.7 seconds made it impossible for her rivals to come from behind her.Ā
Mufasa Metro left his rivals standing and sprinted clear to win by 7 metres from Harry Stamper, Queen Elida and Keayang Chucky who all finished close together.Ā
