Mufasa Metro settled at the rear of the field from his inside second row draw however driver John Justice made a mid-race move to sit outside the leader and $1.70 favorite Im Ready Jet with 1600 metres to travel.
Mufasa Metro was able drop in for a sit behind Im Ready Jet with a lap to travel before pulling out around the home turn and the pair staged a thrilling two horse war down the home stretch with Mufasa Metro ($3) getting up to score by half a neck.

After the race Justice admitted he had a change of heart after sending Mufasa Metro to the spelling paddock during the week.
āHe was half way out to the paddock and I had to go and bring him back,ā Justice said.
āI thought after his last run that he needed a spell but tonightās field turned out to be a bit light on, so it worked out well in the end,ā he said.
Justice said being able to take a sit inside the final lap helped his cause.
āIt certainly helped but he was travelling really well anyway and heās had Im Ready Jetās measure for the last few runs and tonight he dug deep and it was fantastic,ā he said.
Mufasa Metro is now unbeaten in three starts at Cranbourne and the win took his stake earnings to more than $350,000.
