New Zealand bred gelding My Watchlist (My Watchlist) is finally putting it together as evidenced by his third win on end in the Mobile Pace at Gloucester Park on Friday evening.

Confidently backed into a short priced favourite, My Watchlist showed enough speed to hold out the lead and from then driver Gary Hall Jnr was able to dictate his own terms.
Running his first quarter in a very slow 32.6 seconds it was obvious that the race would develop into a sprint home and given that he ran his final quarters in 27.3 and 27.7 seconds My Watchlist had plenty in reserve as he strolled to a four metre win.
Maungatahi who trailed the leader throughout didn’t get a clear run in the home straight but its doubtful that he would have troubled the winner while Youre So Fine who had to sit three wide in the final lap battled on determinedly to run third.
MY WATCHLIST 3 JAN REPLAY
Hall Jnr reflected on My Watchlist after the event.
We’ve had issues with him on the gate being too keen in the past. He’s a little bit better now. I went back on all his form on tabtouch which I think its his last ten and he’s drawn four twice when he got back. The rest were seven, eight and nine. So I didn’t bother digging any deeper.
27.3 seconds (for the third quarter) and I thought I’d get to the bend and look across and I thought they’d all be gone but they were still there. Youre So Fine was huge but he’s been going pretty good. So it’s funny this horse we’ve had so many problems throughout his whole time he’s been over here. But he’s always had the ability. Like often happens he’s won and then gone back to back.
He gets lost between the ears at times so I’d never hang my hat on how we’ve got him going at the moment but he’s doing things right and he’s had so many injuries but it’s not always his fault.
Indeed its always a challenge for trainers to persist with horses to get to the track when they are plagued with one injury after another, so it would have been especially satisfying for both trainer Gary Hall Snr and driver Jnr to steer My Watchlist to yet another win.
Since arriving in Australia over three years ago, My Watchlist has won seven races, all at Gloucester Park.
