Former champion pacer Lennytheshark, who is standing this season at Tourello Standardbreds in Tasmania, was credited with a ‘new’ two-year-old harness racing winner when Mako Mondo led throughout in 1:58.1 at Newcastle.
Heathbern Bruce, a three-year-old and one of ‘Lenny’s’ first crop, captured a heat of the Northern Region Championship at Ouyen and finished an unlucky second in the $20,000 Final at Mildura.
Lochiel, a NZ bred gelding, is carrying the flag for Lennytheshark’s studmate Lincoln Royal in NSW. He recorded back-to-back successes at Menangle in 1:51.3 and 1:52.4 and has earned more than $135,000.
Tourello Standardbreds latest acquisition All Bets Off, the $3million winning son of Bettor’s Delight, was represented by several fast winners in North America last week. They include the three-year-olds New Shooter (1:52.8), Aint She Pretty (1:54) and True Seelster (1:54.2) and the two-year-old Sandra’s Mystery (1:56.6).
