The progeny of the brilliant, young sires Downbytheseaside, Vincent, Lennytheshark and Control The Moment and the last crops of Alta Christiano and Hurrikane Kingcole will be showcased at harness racing’s Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale to be held at Bathurst Raceway on Sunday, March 20.
Downbytheseaside, a former USA 3YO Colt of the Year, was the leading first crop sire in North America last year and his first Ćustralian crops are showing marked ability in their early preparations.
Vincent, an Auckland Cup and dual Derby winner, has made a flying start to his stud career in NZ with the promising colt Seve, a winner and an unlucky second in a heat of the Young Guns from his only two starts.
Lennytheshark, the Inter Dominion champion and Miracle Mile hero, and Control The Moment, a Meadowlands Pace winner and a 1:50 sire in America, have their initial Australian crop racing this year.
In all, 22 different stallions are represented at the sale.
Other well known stallions are last seasonās leading two-year-old sire Captaintreacherous and premier rookie sire Always B Miki, Sweet Lou, the sire of Spirit Of St Louis, leading colonial two-year-old sire Bling It On and the proven sires Rock N Roll Heaven, Sportswriter, Modern Art, Tintin In America, Sunshine Beach, For A Reason, Hes Watching, Betterthancheddar and Warrawee Needy.
