Rising star Nicely Spoken (Well Said) should have little trouble extending his harness racing winning streak when he returns to Globe Derby tonight (Aug. 26).
Successful during his last three outings, Nicely Spoken has scored in Mildura and twice at the home of South Australian harness racing.
Pleased with the three-year-old’s progress, trainer Ryan Hryhorec is confident Nicely Spoken will prove too slick again.
“He just keeps improving every week,” Hryhorec said. “He’s had four runs this preparation and has gotten better each time he’s gone around.
“His work has been terrific and it will take a pretty decent run to beat him.”
To be driven by Hryhorec, Nicely Spoken is a $1.30 TAB Fixed Odds favourite after drawing to lead throughout from barrier two.
The colt’s task has been made easier following the scratching of his main danger, Flirting, from gate three.
“He’s drawn to find the front and it is hard seeing him being run down,” Hryhorec said.
Earlier on the card Hryhorec will be represented by promising trotter Confiscated, which is unbeaten from two starts for the leading horseman.
Although a “risky proposition” from the stand, Confiscated is a $2.80 TAB Fixed Odds favourite from the 10-metre line.
“He has been a good pick up for the stable,” Hryhorec said. “We’ve had him for a little while, but gave him plenty of time off to mature and grow.
“He can be a risky proposition from the stand as noted by his outside of the draw status, but if he goes away well he will be right in it.”
