In form West Australian trainer Aiden De Campo does not have any grand plans for his consistent performer Alta Engen.
De Campo continued his Gloucester Park feature race haul with the four-year-old pacer last night claiming the Group 2 San Simeon.
However, despite the effortless victory in the $50,000 event, De Campo is happy to take it week-by-week with the son of Alta Christiano.
āI donāt have any major plans for him, just race him through his grades,ā said De Campo.
āHe tends to race well fortnightly so weāll just stick to that.
āHeās only lightly raced and is still learning his craft but heās always had the ability.
āHeās just a big relaxed type of fella.ā
Alta Engen extended his record to 11 wins in 19 starts when leading throughout from barrier one last night and subsequently pushed his earnings just shy of $100,000 to $98,197.
Out of the other main races at Gloucester Park last night, Minstrel lived up to his favouritism to claim the free-for-all on the card and has now won five races in-a-row.
Meanwhile, four-year-old American Ideal gelding Magnificent Storm overcame a 40m handicap and produced a stellar performance to win the Blake Ashworth Memorial Marathon Handicap over 3309m.
