The end-to-end success of Our Goat in the NSW Breeders Challenge heat for three-year-old colts and geldings at Menangle on Tuesday (October 8) has given his world champion harness racing sire Warrawee Needy (1:46.8), who stands at Yirribee Pacing Stud, Wagga (NSW), a timely boost for the breeding season.

The gelding, who has won seven races and almost $70,000 in stakes, clocked 1:53.2 for the flying mile.
Other recent three-year-old winners by Warrawee Needy have been Fly The Banner, who has won his last four starts, Phantom Star (1:58.7) and Star Gully Eve, and the Albion Park winner Ideal In Dreams (1:54.4).
Warrawee Needy has sired 73 individual winners from 120 starters in Australia at an average of $24,100 per starter.
Warrawee Needyās studmate Cattlewash (1:46.8) continues to take all before him with his first racing crop in North America.
Among his recent winners are Manolete, who won a $38,500 division of the W. N. Reynolds Memorial in 1:52.4 at Tioga Downs, New York, Cattleshark (1:55 and 1:55.2) and the New Jersey Sire Stakes SDF divisional victors Floor It Freddie (1:54) and Worklifebalance (1:56.4).
Cattlewash is the third leading first season sire in North America with progeny earnings of $847,803 to date.

Breeders whose mares are domiciled in NSW are eligible to receive $1750 comprising $1250 on the birth of a live foal that was serviced in NSW and $500 if the foal is by a NSW domiciled stallion.
