NSW September integrity updates

 Inquiries Concluded

  • 27 September 2021 – Mr Glenn McElhinney was fined $1000 after pleading guilty to a charge issued by HRNSW Stewards pursuant to AHRR 247 (Improper Manner towards HRNSW Steward) at Tabcorp Park Menangle on 17 August 2021.

Appeal Decision

  • 7 September 2021– Mr Scott Wade appealed the decision of HRNSW Stewards to disqualify him for a period of 9 months in relation to two (2) charges issued pursuant to AHRR 190(1), (2) & (4). Mr Wade was granted a Stay of Proceedings by the NSW Racing Appeals Tribunal.
  • 15 September 2021– Mr Jack Callaghan appealed the decision of HRNSW Stewards to suspend his licence for a period of 21 days following a breach of AHRR 163(1)(z) (fail to fully drive his horse out to the end of the race) when driving THE GENERAL in Race 3 at Penrith on 29 April 2021. The appeal was upheld by the NSW Racing Appeals Tribunal. (appeal decision at www.hrnsw.com.au)
  • 22 September 2021– Mr Joshua Gallagher appealed the decision of HRNSW Stewards to suspend his licence for a period of 14 days following a breach of AHRR 168(1)(a) (Careless Driving) when driving RECKON IM SMART NZ in Race 2 at Penrith on 29 July 2021. The appeal against conviction was dismissed by the NSW Racing Appeals Tribunal and the appeal against severity was upheld. The period of suspension was reduced to 7 days.
