Classy pacer Nyack (Sweet Lou) made it back to back wins when he outsprinted his rivals to take out the Success Stud Free For All at Menangle Park last night.

Competing in a high quality event Nyack showed early speed but eventually driver James Rattray secured the perfect trail behind the leader Wasa Heat Seeker.
Favourite Captains Knock resuming from his recent Inter Dominion campaign settled back near the rear of the field. Terry who also performed admirably during the Inter Dominion series was back in the field as well.
Wasa Heat Seeker was setting a fast pace as Terry started to improve his position the back. It was a case of Wasa Heat Seeker trying to run his rivals off their legs but Nyack was the one with the fresh legs and he stormed clear to defeat the fast finishing Captain’s Knock with front runner Wasa Heat Seeker holding on for third.
Due to the fast pace set by Wasa Heat Seeker the winning mile rate was a scintillating 1.49 with race quarters of 26.3, 28.8, 27.3 and 26.6 seconds.
NYACK REPLAY
Nyack was prepared early in his career by Todd Rattray in Tasmania and winning his first start as a two year old in Launceston gave indication of better things to come. He won a number of feature races as a two, three and four year old and was sent over to Sydney. His recent Inter Dominion campaign wasn’t a success but freshened up the five year old has found form with a vengeance.
On his winning time Nyack would be a possibility for a Miracle Mile invitation and with his sit and sprint style he could surprise in such top company.
Nyack’s win gave James Rattray a winning double as he had earlier scored with four year old Torram Magic (For A Reason) who like Nyack outsprinted his rivals after a perfect inside run.
While taking nothing away from the winner the performance of Captain’s Knock was first class. He was well back in the field and he was flying home at the finish despite the fast sectionals.
Depending on where Brad Hewitt wishes to take him he will make his presence felt especially if he is allowed to lead which is his favourite role.
