Recently indentured TAB Eureka contender Bay Of Biscay (Somebeachsomewhere) capped off his preparation for the world’s richest harness race with an impressive victory at Melton.

Sent out a $1.25 favorite, Bay Of Biscay was given time to balance up by driver Mark Pitt before assuming the front running with 1200 metres to travel.
Pitt kept Bay Of Biscay’s mind on the job in recording a mile rate of 1:54.2 for the 2240 metres.
This week Bay Of Biscay was secured by slot holders Kevin and Kay Seymour as their runner in the TAB Eureka and as one of only two likely three year olds in the race he will come out of the first two barriers.
“He was super tonight,” Pitt said.
“It was his first run since the Queensland Derby where he ran second, it’s been a little bit between runs but this will have topped him off nicely for the Eureka in a fortnight,” he said.
Pitt, the stable driver for the Emma Stewart stable, said he was likely to take the reins behind Bay Of Biscay in the TAB Eureka.
“He’ll probably just have a little more work at home then head straight up to Sydney,” he said.
“The team have a few in it and I leave that up to Emma and Clayton to choose the drivers, but I’d be confident that I could stick with Bay Of Biscay.”
