The Prentice stable has been racing in fine form of late, with the team celebrating three harness racing winners over the weekend including Bitofdutchcourage (American Ideal) and Soho Firestone (American Ideal) at Narrogin on Saturday (Jul 29), and three-year-old Tantabiddi (Forclosure) on Monday (Jul 31)at Gloucester Park, who broke through for his maiden win.
Overcoming injury as a two-year-old, the son of Foreclosure NZ resumed at Gloucester Park on Monday after 15 months away from the track who required time to mature.
āAs a two-year-old he got a cracked pastern and had three screws put in,
āThe main reason (for the break) was that we would get him almost ready and something else would go amiss, he just had an immature body,
āHeās just been immature, I did like him, so Iāve given him the time.ā
Prentice made mention that although Tantabiddi isnāt up with the best of them in this year’s three-year-old colts and geldingsā crop, he does believe his gelding has plenty of ability.
āIāll just race him in a fortnights time at Pinjarra, and we will just try and pick up as many westbred three-year-old races as we can along the way.
āHeās a nice horse, he did that very, very easy yesterday (Monday),
āItās a really strong three-year-old year and heās not up there with the best, but I suppose he will be in the next group. ā
The next few weeks in racing look to be promising for Kim Prentices stable, with Hector and Soho Dow Jones being aimed towards the $30,000 Marathon Handicap over the 3309m standing start at Gloucester Park on August 11.
Two-year-old Soho Skyfall trialled well at Bunbury today, leading all the way in the six-horse field to win by 22.6m in 1:59:6, coming home in 27.1.
He will resume racing on Tuesday the 15th of August in the Pearl Heats at Gloucester Park. The promising young gelding has had just the two starts, winning on debut and finishing fifth in the 2YO Colts and Geldings Sales Classic back in March.
Prentice has two fillies aimed towards the Diamond Classic this year, Terasita and Lenora Jane who will race this Friday night at Gloucester Park in the 2YO filliesā race, race 9 on the card. Terasita has drawn barrier one, Lenora Jane starts from barrier six over the 1730m trip.
